Waste Management Facility Construction Meeting Sept. 24, 2011 9AM-11AM
As presented by the Office of Congressman Mark Villar in collaboration with Republic Act 9003, The Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000, their office are planning to construct a waste management facility for the exclusive use of our subdivision.
To date, there are already 5 waste management facility in Talon dos that are operational and a total of 28 facilities all over Las Pinas and is being used as a source of livelihood by Las Piñeros and at the same time helping the environment.
The proposal has not yet been approved by the board and will still be under approval and will undergo a memorandum of agreement between the Barangay and Homeowners Association.
The following are the precepts of the project:
A wet solid waste (nabubulok) recycling center will be built beside the Friendship Bridge with a lot area of 36 sq. meters.
Wet solid waste will be collected by barangay-hired "Bio-men" to collect wet solid waste daily except sundays to be processed by the waste management facility.
The waste facility can facilitate 1.5 tonnes of waste good enough for 500 homes in a week. To date, Camella has 188 homeowners/lessees.
Process of composting will be using a bio-enzyme to shorten the composting from the usual 1.5 months to a measly 5 days.
Foul smell is only expected during transfer of waste from the collector to the facility but as explained. Smell is acidic in nature.
The by-product of the process is dry-compost which can be used as a high-grade fertilizer which will be given free to any homeowner who needs it and others will be sold. Proceeds will be given to the barangay for operational costs.
The barangay is responsible for the operation of the facility including the transfer and transport of waste to the facility, and the bio-enzyme used to speed up the composting. Service is free of charge for Camella Homeowners
On rare cases, if the facility becomes full, the barangay will claim the excess waste immediately to processing on other sites.
Present in the meeting are two representatives of the project under the office of Cong. Mark Villar namely: Vangie Dalosa and Kagawad Allan Tagumpay of Brgy. Pamplona Dos.
Officers present are Pres. Cesar Lorzano, Secretary Kit Buhain, Sports and Youth Dir. Gener Tropicales, Treasurer Nemenz Gonzales, Ways and Means Dir. Jimmy Del Rosario and Digital Info Dir. Ervin Malicdem with 20 other homeowners.
